| This archive is to help with physical features and other information on characters from my favorite series Stargate: Atlantis. Over time secondary characters will be added but for the time being only cast members will be listed, which means Doctor Elizabeth Weir (Torri Higginson) and Doctor Carson Beckett (Paul McGillion) will be removed. Even though Carson Beckett wasn't in the previous archive. WARNING: Archive is subject to frequent change! |
| LIEUTENANT COLONEL JOHN SHEPPARD - ATLANTIS MILITARY COMMANDER |
| Full Name/Title: Lieutenant Colonel John Sheppard
Height: 6'2" Weight: Unknown Eye Color: Light Green/Grey (changes colors if you ask me) Hair Color: Brown Species: Human (born on Earth in the Milky Way Galaxy) Unique Abilities: Is a mathematical genius and can control any piece of Ancient technology mentally, or just by touching. Bio: Military Commander of Atlantis Sheppard is determined and lead by his instincts, unlike his civilian Commander Doctor Elizabeth Weir. With a tough exterior and a wry sense of humor he tries his best to be a perfect and charming gentleman but fights with an animalistic determination and single purpose. He commands by instinct letting his strong common sense of morality lead his actions. He likes to pretend he is not as smart as he really is. He is a closet mathematical genius and does not like to show it unless pushed. He also has the ability to control any piece of Ancient technology which is why he was recruited in the first place for the Atlantis expedition. He likes Football, Ferris Wheels and anything that goes over 200mph. Plus, he can fly anything with wings...or without them. Oh and did I mention he acts like Captain Kirk from Star Trek an awful lot? Not as much as he used too, but he just can't help himself on occasion. |
| Romantic Interest? Teyla Emmagan, plain and simple. There have been hints of interest here and there throughout the entire series. Overall his relationship with Teyla is by far indescribable. Not a brother/sister type nor a platonic one either but they are far from being lovers or even devout. They have a strong bond that has been tested and tested again and has proven to be unbreakable...as of yet. In the season 3 episode "Sunday" it is revealed that Sheppard was once married, could this be a reason for his hesitation as well as duty? Season 4 Status: As of episode "Quarantine" Sheppard and Teyla seem to have come to somewhat of an understanding about the situation, meaning Teyla's pregnancy and the matters behind it. Teyla had been hiding the pregnancy ever since she found out in "Missing" and "The Seer" almost as if she were afraid of what everyone more specifically what John would think of her. Then in "Be All My Sins Remember'd" she finally tells John and Ronon she is pregnant after being stunned. John is visibly upset and Ronon seems to think it's cute. For the next episode or so John is very protective over Teyla and will barely let her move without pretty much jumping down her throat. He takes her off active duty and they have somewhat of a confrontation until "Quarantine" where they have a moment when stuck in McKay's lab. They are trying to find a way out when Teyla stops suddenly and looks down at her stomach. John thinking something is wrong starts towards her and she tells him everything is fine that the baby kicked. She takes his hand and places it on her belly where they both smile in pure joy of the kicking child. It's then John decides its time to get out and solve the city's problem. |
| TEYLA EMMAGAN - ATHOSIAN LEADER AND ATLANTIS EXPEDITION LIASON |
![]() |
| Full Name/Title: Teyla Emmagan
Height: 5'2" Weight: Unknown Eye Color: Brown Hair Color: Light/Medium Brown Species: Human (born on Athos in the Pegasus Galaxy) Unique Abilities: Has a portion of Wraith DNA which allows her to sense their presence and to connect with them telepathically. And to some degree she can control Wraith technology. In season 3 she flew a hive ship on her own with limited ability and outwitted a Wraith Queen. Bio: Daughter of Tagan, Teyla is a soulful woman with the spirit of a warrior but gentleness of a mother when need be. She is a native of the post-apocalyptic alien world Athos and has lost most of her family to the Wraith. Despite her youth, she has become somewhat of a leader to her people. She joins Sheppard's team as their liason in an effored to defeat their common enemy they now share, the Wraith. She proves herself early on to be an excellent fighter. A survivor under any circumstance and an invaluable source of knowledge about the Pegasus Galaxy. She also has a dark history in which she has a small portion of Wraith DNA which gives her a great advantage over the Wraith. She can sense them from long distances, connect with them telepathically and to a degree control their technology much like |
| Sheppard can with Ancient technology. In "Missing" Teyla confides in Jennifer about a relationship she has been having with a fellow Athosian named Kanan. It is implied at the end of the episode that she is pregnant. In "The Seer" it is confirmed that Teyla is pregnant by Davos, a prophet who has fallen ill. Romantic Interest? My opinion, she is very fond of Sheppard in a much more than friendly way at times. She is a very emotionally controlled individual and the only time you really see her loose a bit of control is when it concerns Sheppard. I myself, have never noticed any sort of behavior toward anyone else not even a fellow Athosian. However, it seems in the episode "Missing" we find out that Teyla has been involved with a fellow Athosian and even carrying his child. With understanding of the actual pregnancy of the actress (Rachel Luttrell) I understand they had to do something involving a pregnancy, but could've gone a complete different route. Her pregnancy on the show seems cold, rushed and uncharacteristic of Teyla. Season 4 Status: As of "Quarantine" Teyla is now starting to show in her pregnancy but has many months to go before she is due. In "Quarantine" she finally realizes that going out with the team is too dangerous for her while she is pregnant and is even considering quitting the team to raise her child in fear of dyeing on a mission one day. John tells her she can still be on the team and take care of her child and even if something did happen to her he had a family in Atlantis. Oh by the way, in "Spoils of War" we find out the baby is a boy. |

| FORMER SPECIALIST RONON DEX - MEMBER OF SHEPPARD'S GATE TEAM |
| Full Name/Title: (Former) Specialtist Ronon Dex
Height: 6'4" Weight: Unknown Eye Color: Brown/Hazel Hair Color: Brown Species: Human (born on Sateda in the Pegasus Galaxy) Unique Abilities: His animalistic skills that he most likely acquired from his military training on his homeworld Sateda and from the seven years as a Runner. Bio: Once a military soldier, a Specialist, on the planet Sateda, Specialist Ronon Dex became a runner when the Wraith took him from his home after they reduced it to ruins. For seven years he stayed on the run. A runner, what he was, is an individual that the Wraith tag to hunt because they can not be fed upon for some reason, which is still unknown. But one day Ronon ran into Sheppard and Teyla and after some bad introductions Ronon was excepted into the Atlantis world as one of their own. Where he now works as an excellent tracker and muscle on Sheppard's offworld team. Romantic Interest? Ronon's very closed off and only associates with Sheppard, Teyla and the team and recently opened up a little more to Elizabeth but only in the aspect he seems to stay near her during |
| dangers in Atlantis itself. I think she intrigues him in a way and he used to have a wife/girlfriend but she was killed on his homeworld Sateda during the Wraith attacks. So that gives an indication that he's interested in that type of woman. However, with Elizabeth being replaced by Samantha Carter it's been hinted at that the new Doctor to replace Carson Beckett, Dr. Jennifer Keller could be a possible romantic interest. We'll see how that goes. I didn't see anything in the season finale "First Strike" in season 3. Season 4 Status: In "Quarantine" Ronon and Jennifer get closer by being stuck in the med lab. They are about to kiss when the lock down is removed. I think we'll be seeing more between these two throughout the rest of the season. |
| DOCTOR RODNEY MCKAY - ATLANTIS' LEADING ASTROPHYSICIST |
![]() |
| Full Name/Title: Doctor Rodney McKay Height: 5'11" Weight: Unknown Eye Color: Light Green or Blue Hair Color: Brown Species: Human (born on Earth in the Milky Way Galaxy) Unique Abilities: Up until season 4 he was the smartest person in Atlantis, but with Colonel Samantha Carter coming to be the new leader he will have competition. Bio: Rodney McKay is both egotistical and brashly arrogant putting himself on a pedastal 90% of the time. He is also a hypocondriac and freaks out if he gets a splinter. Being allergic to lemons and needing sugar constantly he is very hard to please and bickers with Sheppard like he was his older brother. He dislikes children and speaks down to everyone including superiors believing they couldn't possibly understand him. But, when push comes to shove he cares for people but like Sheppard to a degree doesn't like to show it much. Romantic Interest? Believe it or not McKay seems to get around. It was speculated that he was seeing |
| Doctor Heightmeyer in season 1 then with Doctor Brown in season 2. Then in episode "Sunday" he actually seems to be dating her. But it's liable to be a different ball game when Carter comes to Atlantis full time. It's unclear at this point if she's steady with O'Neil or not. Season 4 Status: In "Quarantine" McKay was planning on asking Katie Brown to marry him, but with the lock down going into effect and issues being brought to the surface they both decided it was probably best to step back and get a better focus on themselves and their relationship. |
| COLONEL SAMANTHA CARTER - NEW ATLANTIS EXPEDITION LEADER |
![]() |
| Full Name/Title: Colonel Samantha Carter Height: 5'9" Weight: Unknown Eye Color: Blue Hair Color: Blonde Species: Human (born on Earth in the Milky Way Galaxy) Unique Abilities: Is Earth's leading Astrophysicist and is in for some competition when she takes over as leader of Atlantis. Carter has single handedly saved Earth numorous times. Bio: Samantha Carter is by far one of the smartest people on Earth and soon to be Atlantis. In season 4 she will assume the duties of base commander in Atlantis in absense of Doctor Elizabeth Weir whom was severly injured in the season 3 finale "First Strike". For the last ten years Carter has been a member of SG-1 the leading gate team back on Earth. Romantic Interest? It's no big secret that Carter is in love with General Jack O'Neil. If you ever kept up with SG-1 before Atlantis you would know the two of them were full of tension for at least seven years. But, it is unclear at this time whether or not she and O'Neil will have a relationship after she assumes her duties in Atlantis. |

| DOCTOR JENNIFER KELLER - HEAD MEDICAL EXAMINER |
| Full Name/Title: Doctor Jennifer Keller Height: 5'5" Weight: Unknown Eye Color: Brown Hair Color: Brown Species: Human (born on Earth in the Milky Way Galaxy) Unique Abilities: Is an aspiring doctor, new head medical examiner of the Atlantis Expedition. Bio: Was appointed by Doctor Elizabeth Weir to be the new head medical examiner. Feels she's not up to the job of head medical examiner but proves herself after the Asuran attack. Romantic Interest? Ronon puts her on edge. Ronon tends to do that with most every woman he encounters except Teyla. I don't think he affects Carter that way because of her expierence with Teal'c. Season 4 Status: It's obvious she's got it bad for Ronon and during "Quarantine" I think it shows they're both wanting a relationship of some sort. I think we'll be seeing more after that almost kiss. |
| Season 4 Status: So far in season 4 we haven't seen any kind of romantic interest for Sam, except for maybe a little bit of tension on Radek's part in "Quarantine" when he and Carter were stuck in the transporter. I think it would be wrong for her to get a romantic relationship because of all those years of tension and want between her and O'Neil. . |
